Jupiter

Barn Name: Jupiter

Breed: Standardbred
Height: 16.2hh
Age: 20 y/o
Gender: Gelding
Colour: Bay

Health: Excellent, Vaccinated with rhino, strangles, west nile, rabies etc March end '09, Does well outside for the summer with a shelter, hay & pasture, but needs a little extra (senior pellets and a turnout blankie) for the winter

Lameness: None - Sound, but he would need shoes/hoof boots on the fronts if you plan to ride on gravel roads/trails (he gets ouchy on gravel) but is very sound on grass, sand, etc.

Vices: None

Personality: Friendly. Easy to Catch, Lead, Groom, Tie, Trim, Trailer, etc. Currently turned out with a group of geldings - horses, ponies and donkeys. He is higher up in the pecking order but only bossy when a new horse first arrives.

History/Training: Trained English, Large Moving Horse, Knows Voice Commands, Lunges, Great Ground Manners, Enjoys Jumping, Road Safe, Likes to Lead, Was Rescued by his Previous Owner 14 yrs ago, Jupiter Doesn't Like Loud People or Rough Handling (and I don't blame him!)

Future/Suitability: Great Pleasure/Backyard/Trail Horse - I don't think he would be suited to the show ring as his balance is not that great around corners and he does start pacing every now and then, which wouldn't do well in a show ring, Has been ridden here by riders of all levels, in the ring and on the trail - but he is happiest on the roads/trails - very bold, loves to lead!!

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: Accepting Best Offer

We accept email money transfers or cash. We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We have at least $2000+ invested into Jupiter with his hay, feed, supplements, deworming, farrier, etc. We will never recoup what we have into Jupiter so we understand we will be taking a huge loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Jupiter needs and deserves a good permanent loving home. He has been patiently since April '09.

Current Status: Located at HCW in Cameron, ON - Available for Adoption/Sale. If you have any questions about Jupiter and/or would like to make arrangements to see him, please email Claire at HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca
