Pal

Barn Name: Pal

Breed: Paso Fino or Icelandic Possibly ? or a cross ?
Height: approx 13.2hh (will measure)
Age: 16 y/o (doesn't look or act his age)
Gender: Gelding
Colour: Palomino

Health: Excellent, Easy Keeper, UTD on Shots May '09 (Flu/EVR, WNV, Rabies, Tetnus, Strangles)

Lameness: None - Sound

Vices: None

Personality: Friendly. Easy to Catch (once he gets to know you & trust you, or if halter is left on), Lead, Groom, Tie, Trim, Trailer, etc. Good with other horses, ponies and donkeys.

History/Training: Well broke to walk, trot, canter, jump, trail ride, etc but he has alot of energy and will scoot forward if you apply leg pressure, sit forward and tighten your reins, so not suited for a beginner rider, it's almost like someone trained him that way. He was purchased for $2500 from a dealer in Sept '07 they had hoped that with regular riding and lessons that he would be suitable for their beginner daughter but he wasn't. UPDATE: Currently being fostered at a local stable and being ridden by an 11 yr old.

Future/Suitability: English or Western, Show or Pleasure - Not Suitable for a Beginner - Amazing trail pony ! Would make a great endurance pony or perhaps for games and barrels as he has alot of speed and can turn on a dime. Loves to jump!

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price:

We accept email money transfers or cash. We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We have at least $1500+ invested into Pal with his hay, deworming, farrier, training, etc. We will never recoup what we have into Pal so we understand we will be taking a huge loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Pal needs and deserves a good permanent loving home. He has been patiently waiting for the right home since June '09.

Current Status: JULY 3 UPDATE: PAL IS CURRENTLY ON TRIAL AT A POTENTIAL NEW HOME IN UXBRIDGE. If you have any questions and/or would like to make an appointment to Pal please email Claire at HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca Thanks!

SPONSORS NEEDED!!!: If you would like to help Pal, but are not able to Adopt or Foster him at this time perhaps you would be interested in Sponsoring him by helping to cover the costs of (or a portion of) his daily care - such as his Hay, Vaccinations, Teeth Floating, Farrier, Ivermectin De-Wormer, Tapeworm Dewormer, Over the Fence Feeder, Blue Salt Block, Treats, Halter, Spring Turnout Sheet, Winter Turnout Blanket, Fly Mask, Fly Spray, Brushes, Lead Rope, etc. If you would like to help in any way, please email Claire at HCW for details. HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca Thanks!

Please Note: Trailering is Available for Pal. The Cost is Your Responsibility But We Can Make All The Arrangements for You From This End. If You Would Like a Trailering Quote Please Call Josh at 905-242-7229 or Email at: horsepowertransport@hotmail.com Please Supply Him With Your City/Town Name and Postal Code, So That He Can Give You An Accurate Quote.
