Personality: Friendly. Easy to catch, lead, tie, groom, trim, trailer, etc. Currently turned out with a herd of other horses, ponies and donkeys, all geldings.
History/Training: According to his previous owner Prince was used for logging, ploughing, sleigh rides, manure spreading with stone boat, cultivating, bringing in big bales of hay, etc. single, double .... also ridden bareback with just a halter and 2 leads. FEB 1st UPDATE: Feb 1st WE ADOPTED PRINCE TO A WONDERFUL NEW HOME. BEFORE ADOPTING HIM THEY CAME AND TRIED HIM OUT WITH A HARNESS AND STONE BOAT AND HE SEEMED TO BE JUST WHAT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR. Feb 14 UPDATE: PRINCE'S NEW HOME EMAILED TO SAY THEY HE WAS DOING WELL WITH PULLING LOGS ETC BUT AS SOON AS THEY TRIED TO BACK HIM UP INTO THE SHAFTS OF THE WAGON HE GOT VERY UPSET AND RAN INTO THE FOREST, WAGON AND ALL. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT BUT POOR PRINCE WAS VERY UPSET ABOUT THE WHOLE ORDEAL. PRINCE WILL BE RETURNING TO HCW EQUINE RESCUE TO FIND A HOME AS A RIDING HORSE AS HE OBVIOUSLY HAS SOME SCARY MEMORIES ABOUT GOING INTO THE SHAFTS OR IF YOU ARE IN THE MONTREAL, QUEBEC AREA HE CAN BE VIEWED THERE BEFORE RETURNING TO HCW. IF YOU HAVE THE TIME, PATIENCE AND EXPERIENCE HE MAY BE ABLE TO EVENTUALLY PULL A WAGON OR SLEIGH AGAIN. Update: Since having Prince back we have been riding him twice a week and he really seems to enjoy it. We rode him down the road and he was happy, and loved to be leader! I will post some more riding pix this week.

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: $1500
We accept email money transfers or cash. We no longer accept cheques due to all the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running.
